Coaching charter IDC
It is important that every professional coach who is trained at IDC commits himself to abide by the ethical principles outlinet hereafter.
For IDC, a Coaching Institute based in Geneva, he professional coach builds a continous relationship that focuses on the person being coached. He brings the support needed while helpin the person along: this consists in achieving his objectives while respecting his own values.
The principles on which IDC builds its approach are as follows :
Each individual has a unique skill set
- He is responsible for his success
- There are significant capabilities often sleeping that only ask for being unlocked, woken up, developed and realised
On the basis of these principles, the coach commits himself to
- Guide the person towards the resolution of its problems by exploring its own resources
- Help the person clarify his values and align its actions
- Become aware of hints that can lead coach to act
- Reinforce a aproactive behavior
- Make the individual aware and responsible over all the aspects of its life
To effect this process, the coach follows the person in its "danse" instead of giving direction, he applies active listening, unconditional welcome and no judgement but encouragement, feedback and all the necessary tools instrumental in the coaching process.
Within the framework of his responsibilities, the coach quarantees the process but not the success. He commits to refer to other appropriate specialists, persons who suffer from severe psychological disorders, e.g. depression, with strong dependencies, phobias or other illnesses of mental origin.
He will also refuseto use psychological influencing techniques (among other hypnosis) unless strongly requested by the coached and only with his formal agreement.
